Job Description PURPOSE & SCOPE: Job holders at this level lead teams involved with the development of discipline-specific engineering drawing. For small projects they may be designated as Designers, with sole responsibility for design work, whilst on larger projects they may assume responsibilities as Drafting Team Leaders (DTL’s). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Liaise closely with Design Office Coordinator (DOC) for resource planning, manhour planning. Provide regular feedback to DOC on progress on allocated jobs.
• Works closely with Lead Discipline Engineer (LDE) for deliverable and resource planning to ensure timely issuance of project deliverables.
• Studies and understands the scope of work and specifications for each project. Develop installation concepts and allocates them to team members for preparing detailed / construction engineering drawings.
• Prepare barge layout arrangements, sea-fastening detailed drawings, lifting and installation drawings for decks, jacket, bridges, and other structures.
• Prepare float over lay outs, mooring and equipment layouts, exclusion zone drawings and perform clash checks with Topside and barge.
• Perform clash checks on each deliverable, minimise repetitive works, encourage standardisation.
• Develop installation concepts and promote innovation.
• Mentors, supervises, and participates in discipline-specific drafting activities carried out by junior drafting staff, ensuring that work assignments are completed on time and to set quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks on drawings produced by his Team to ensure compliance with Company Quality standards, consistency, and quality of work.
• Provides input for the resolution of engineering queries from Clients or Third parties.
• Develop good drafting practices, Engineering Best practices (EBP’s) and contribute to discipline drafting office development and continuous improvement of drafting manual.
• Undertakes interdisciplinary co-ordination to ensure integration of project drafting

Skills Required
• Technical Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent.
• 12 years Design experience, with a minimum of 5 years at Level 2.
• Thorough knowledge on floating barges, construction and lifting vessels with specific emphasis on crane operations.
• Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator (AutoCAD / MicroStation).
• Minimum basic knowledge of weight and CoG concepts.
• Supervisory experience and team-leader qualities.
• Good problem solving and time management skills.
• Good skills on manpower allocation and resource planning.
• Good interdisciplinary knowledge.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of PDMS/PDS/SP3D/Tekla is an advantage but not necessity.
• Rigorous checker.
