NPCC Led Consortium Wins ADMA-OPCO Umm Lulu Package 2
Published Date : 29, Aug 2013
NPCC, in consortium with Technip France Abu Dhabi, has been awarded
by Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), the contract for the
EPC Work of Umm Lulu Full Field Development Project – Package 2 (Process
Facilities). Throughout the duration of the contract, NPCC will be the
consortium leader and be responsible for the overall delivery of the
project.
The contract was awarded with an approximate value of US Dollars
1.69 Billion, at the conclusion of a competitive bidding process in
which many international EPC contractors participated.
The contract's scope of work consists of the detailed
engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation,
commissioning and start-up of a large offshore super complex located in
the Umm Lulu Field. The complex will comprise six bridge linked
platforms including gathering, separation, gas treatment and water
disposal facilities, utilities and accommodation modules. These
platforms totaling over 66,000 metric tons will be fabricated at NPCC's
yard in Abu Dhabi.
The platforms will be installed by the floatover method , which
allows a high proportion of the hook-up and pre-commissioning work to
be completed onshore prior to load-out, and thereby significantly
reduces both the duration and cost of the offshore commissioning phase.
NPCC has successfully applied this specialized installation technique
on several projects.
The project is scheduled to be completed in in the first half of 2018.
This award, one of the largest in the UAE's offshore industry,
re-inforces NPCC' s leadership in the regional Oil & Gas EPC
sector and is further testimony of its strong and lasting partnership
with ADMA-OPCO. It supplements the recent award made directly to NPCC in
the sum of approximately US Dollars 765 Million for the EPC Work of Umm
Lulu Full Field Development Project – Package 1, comprising the
detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation,
commissioning and start-up of 6 new Wellhead Towers, 90 km of infield
pipelines, 125-km Main Oil Line, 100 km of Fiber Optic Cables and
Brownfield Modifications to 2 existing wellhead towers in the Umm Lulu
Field.
The Umm Lulu Field is located in the Arabian Gulf, 42 Km from Abu
Dhabi, and its development is a strategic initiative of ADNOC and the
industrial shareholders of ADMA-OPCO.
